The Ambiguity of Accessibility

Although I realize that I should hardly even have the right to present my thoughts on the state of perceptions of Web Accessibility because of my novice involvement with the topic. At this moment however, I have to do just that.

I'll put four thoughts on the table:

Many people perceive the number of people impacted by accessibility in web or technology design as insignificant.

Although the number of people with accessibility needs is lower then the general population, the number is growing.

The impact of the absence of accessibility is systems and web design is critical; in many cases rendering a resource unusable.

Many people with accessibilty needs today did not have them yesterday.
