Below is a link to a valuable article on some very innovative bicycle designs. Thanks for sending them this way Steph!

What do you all think of them? Could they be developed and implemented effectively?
Thanks in advance for your feedback and discussion.

A few thoughts:
I don't think the bike that is designed around the iPod is necessary. People are doing just fine riding their bikes with their iPods now, so why does there have to be a specific bike for it? Maybe I'm being naive about this topic, by why does everything need to be designed around the iPod?
The bike that is designed to be taken apart and folded for traveling is a good concept, they'd just have to make sure it wouldn't accidentally fall apart when someone was riding it.
Other than that, they're all pretty cool. Very modern, aerodynamic and attractive.
It's incredible how the ipod has influenced so many other products on the market today. Users seemed to be cast to be growing more and more attached to this product and all it's associated apps. I can see how having a specific place on the bike for an ipod type device might come in handy but to your point are there really that many biker/ipod users who would pay to have that feature built into their bicycle? I'm not sure but I think this is a good example of where so market research would be valuable. The design company would do some focus group studies bring together people who use ipods and are also cyclists to evaluate whether an 'ibike' would really sell. The findings from those studies would provide some feedback to your question.
From my perspective, I might like have a place to slide my i phone into as I hopped onto my bike, but it would need to be in a case and location that prevented it from being damaged if I fell during my ride.
I agree that the folding bike is very cool and would need to be tested very well to confirm design integrity. We had a light easy to fold bike that we were testing with at World Usability Day in Boston last November. The goal is a quick fold so people can carry it on the bus or train is needed. Then they could unfold it without issue. I heard they're reliable but good point. Definitely want some rigorous QC on the product.
